Published poet and sometime guitarist with a (very) odd assortment of punk-esque garage bands, junkmale discovered the beauty of techno in the early-'90s, mainly thanks to Colin Faver & Colin Dale's late night radio shows. A period of dedicated clubbing inspired him to install a soundcard in his pc in the mid-'90s and begin experimenting with electronic music. The turn of the century saw a series of domestic crises cause a hiatus on the music front, and it wasn't until late 2002 that the eight track collection 'otherworlds' finally saw the light of day. Influenced as much by roots in rock as the Detroit sound and the seminal LOST parties, 'otherworlds' paints a series of thoughtful cinematic techno excursions. The late-'90s saw junkmale succomb to the lure of the dex and in the last few years he's held dj residencies in London & Brighton, along with numerous guest appearances throughout the UK and mainland Europe alongside such artists as - Rolando, Chris Finke, Max Duley, 65d Mavericks, Inigo Kennedy, Ryan Blackman & Colin Faver. |
